Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fletcher Baba took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Fletcher Baba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dewa Cinta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Australia were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after U21 Indonesia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kane Muggleton took the corner. In the 6thth minute of the game Liang Cai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Indonesia's Dewa Cinta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francesco Baresi during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francesco Baresi hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the game, Fitrah Bagjanata threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Australia's Kevin Lyle quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Komang Wahyudi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Thomas having to interfere. After 19 played minutes U21 Australia got a freekick which was hit by Liang Cai. Dewa Cinta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liang Cai, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 27th minute, Liang Cai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Australia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After having played for 30 minutes, Fletcher Baba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Australia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fletcher Baba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honestra Haridinata in the 31st minute of play forced U21 Australia's goalkeeper Cliff Thomas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cliff Thomas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelis Witoelar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of U21 Indonesia booed when U21 Australia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liang Cai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Australia's Fletcher Baba got a free kick in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Komang Wahyudi made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Fletcher Baba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Australia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fletcher Baba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cliff Thomas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Komang Wahyudi, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Cliff Thomas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anak Junior, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Fletcher Baba dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dewa Cinta, 1-4. In the 66th minute, U21 Australia's Fletcher Baba ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dewa Cinta. Dewa Cinta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. 69 minutes into the match, U21 Australia's goal looked a bit too open when Anak Junior came free, but Cliff Thomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Cornelis Witoelar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Thomas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Indonesia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kane Muggleton was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Australia's players had a chance to rest. Dewa Cinta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fletcher Baba in the 79th minute. Dewa Cinta stood somewhat misplaced when Liang Cai came free in front of goal and shot 1-6 to the left of him in the 80 minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Indonesia's Fitrah Bagjanata got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fletcher Baba got free with Dewa Cinta in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fletcher Baba did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-7 to the left of a surprised Dewa Cinta 89 minutes into the match. Cliff Thomas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honestra Haridinata in the 94th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U21 Australia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
