Ter Stegen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Bakker went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After 7 played minutes Arrows Academy FC got a freekick which was hit by Danny Bartlett. After some careless play in the Arrows Academy FC defense, Torrey Molloy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ged Nightingale. The Arrows Academy FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ged Nightingale should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Arrows Academy FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ersin Uyguralp was slow to take the kick. During this time 1948 MKS's players had a chance to rest. A hard shot 21 in the game by Wen Jie Ting from a close distance when the talented Ter Stegen managed to make a qualified save. 1948 MKS's players were relieved. 22 minutes into the match, Arrows Academy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Torrey Molloy came free, but Ged Nightingale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grzegorz Piechna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Ter Stegen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Grzegorz Piechna did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Ter Stegen 25 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the game, Torrey Molloy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Ged Nightingale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hugo Bakker came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ter Stegen could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Torrey Molloy managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1948 MKS's supporters rose to their feet, but Torrey Molloy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ged Nightingale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Ter Stegen managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Arrows Academy FC's Grzegorz Piechna fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rolan McLian hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torrey Molloy was the one to do the kick off. Ter Stegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grzegorz Piechna in the 52nd minute of the match. Arrows Academy FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Guy Hogg in the 53rd minute. In the 56th minute Hugo Bakker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ter Stegen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Bakker in the 58th minute of play forced 1948 MKS's goalkeeper Ter Stegen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ter Stegen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Bakker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to 1948 MKS getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jonathan McPhil hit a great ball. When Arrows Academy FC's Hugo Bakker in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ter Stegen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wen Jie Ting's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Torrey Molloy might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ged Nightingale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torrey Molloy ran back to his position shaking his head. Arrows Academy FC's Ged Nightingale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Arrows Academy FC from getting a goal against them. Ged Nightingale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torrey Molloy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grzegorz Piechna in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ter Stegen saved 1948 MKS from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grzegorz Piechna in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ter Stegen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wen Jie Ting in the 81st minute of play forced 1948 MKS's goalkeeper Ter Stegen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Arrows Academy FC's Guy Hogg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ter Stegen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wen Jie Ting in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ter Stegen saved 1948 MKS from getting behind. If Guy Hogg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
