Will Goldthorpe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Matti Erkiner showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Matti Erkiner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Will Goldthorpe made a huge save. 20 minutes into the match, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's goal looked a bit too open when Todd Griffiths came free, but Heinz-Gerd Bonin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Heinz-Gerd Bonin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Bean in the 22nd minute of play. Jon Elliot made in the 24th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Leo Bean. A collision led to Heavenly Hooters getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. After a defensive mix-up in Heavenly Hooters's zone, Matti Erkiner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Will Goldthorpe came out of the goal and Matti Erkiner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Will Goldthorpe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matti Erkiner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brandon Wright in the 32nd minute of play forced 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's goalkeeper Heinz-Gerd Bonin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Heavenly Hooters got a corner. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Todd Griffiths ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heavenly Hooters's goalkeeper Will Goldthorpe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Wieslaw Bykowski hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the game, Matti Erkiner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Will Goldthorpe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Edorta Quintas fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heavenly Hooters's protests and gave Edorta Quintas a yellow card for diving instead. Edorta Quintas kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Heinz-Gerd Bonin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Bean in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Alvar Nordgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvar Nordgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Will Goldthorpe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Heinz-Gerd Bonin got control of the ball when Todd Griffiths tried to sneak it across the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Brandon Wright heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Alfons Tilmann was substituted for Matti Erkiner.
