Prospero Petri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Leonardo Loco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Atlético Matorrales's Leonardo Loco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Ledesma in the 15th minute of play. If Leo Chesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Atlético Matorrales's Leonardo Loco got control of the ball when Prospero Petri tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Loco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Chesus in the 26th minute of the match. Leonardo Loco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leo Chesus's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Leonardo Loco was a little too slow when Leo Chesus got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 1-0. Cayetano Francho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Quilino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonardo Loco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Chesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, Atlético Matorrales's Iker Tino got a free kick in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeo Quilino to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes Atlético Matorrales got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Menezes. Atlético Matorrales were furious when Iker Tino was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Matorrales fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! In the 60th minute, Norberto Naelio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Patay Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After having played for 63 minutes, Tadeo Quilino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Matorrales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeo Quilino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cayetano Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Caton in the 72nd minute of play. Atlético Matorrales's Severiano Ebardo was substituted for Tadeo Quilino. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Patay Juniors's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Severiano Ebardo was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético Matorrales's players had a chance to rest. Severiano Ebardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Cayetano Francho made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prospero Petri in the 91st minute of play forced Atlético Matorrales's goalkeeper Leonardo Loco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Severiano Ebardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Matorrales's supporters rose to their feet, but Severiano Ebardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Francho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Patay Juniors fans cheered their team off the field, for while Atlético Matorrales had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
