The crowd rose to their feet as Flávio Reis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving A.J. 韩文海. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. In the 9th minute Benjamin Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carroll Hathaway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carroll Hathaway read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Joinville Esporte Clube were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Sipo EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aílton Melo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Joinville Esporte Clube's corner Aílton Melo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carroll Hathaway quite easily take care of the ball. In the 18th minute, Américo Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Américo Marinho made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Valdir Arósio however managed to control. Carroll Hathaway made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Lara in the 30th minute of play. In the 38th minute Benjamin Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carroll Hathaway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Sipo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Lara came free, but Carroll Hathaway reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Américo Marinho hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benjamin Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benjamin Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A.J. 韩文海 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Reis in the 66th minute of play. Joinville Esporte Clube's A.J. 韩文海 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Velloso in the 69th minute of play. Jerry Uchiha hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The free kick in the 71st minute by Jerry Uchiha was well hit, but to his irritation, it went to the left of the post instead of in the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Albert Hidegkúti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sipo EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Hidegkúti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. A.J. 韩文海 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes into the match, Sipo EC's goalkeeper Carroll Hathaway had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerry Uchiha. A.J. 韩文海 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Reis in the 84th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Américo Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sipo EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joinville Esporte Clube the free kick. In the 91st minute, Américo Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 93rd minute of the match Américo Marinho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Américo Marinho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
