The audience was convinced that 姚然军's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gong Jun Feng was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Wilson Arósio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karol Pierz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of RED BLUE STAR booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Ungureanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gong Jun Feng had in the 50thth minute some difficulties stopping Radoslaw Gizynski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After the first half RED BLUE STAR were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iulian Pietreanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gong Jun Feng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 姚然军 in the 58th minute of play. Gong Jun Feng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sorin Manciu in the 67th minute. Iulian Pietreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by 姚然军 in the 94th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Gong Jun Feng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karol Pierz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pacho Papachantzoulis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karol Pierz having to interfere. RED BLUE STAR's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
