Romário de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Soares in the 32nd minute of play forced Mota 2017's goalkeeper Torgeir Phan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário de Lara in the 35th minute of play. Miguel Pimenta charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Miguel Pimenta hit a great ball. Tulio Negovanović lost his temper 44 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 44 minutes into the game, one of Mota 2017:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roger Couto was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Mota 2017 getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Frederico Paraense hit a great ball. Carlos Alberto Soares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Torgeir Phan made a huge save. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário de Lara in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Carlos Alberto Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torgeir Phan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Romário de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mota 2017's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mota 2017's Dedé Cardoso was substituted for Léo Lopes. Torgeir Phan made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Walmir Pombal sent off a good shot on target. If Roger Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mota 2017's Torgeir Phan got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Soares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute Carlos Alberto Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torgeir Phan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Mota 2017 getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Nilmar Martins hit a great ball. Torgeir Phan made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Vicente Valladares sent off a good shot on target. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Couto in the 89th minute of play. The Catugi FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Mota 2017 from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
