An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Neto in the 12th minute of play forced Nitra FC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nitra FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 30th minute Norbert Konopka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Norbert Konopka sped through Nitra FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jerônimo Maranhense. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonathan da Cunha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jerônimo Maranhense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norbert Konopka's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Nitra FC's Jerônimo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Dias in the 52nd minute of play. Jipa RO's Fabinho Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan da Cunha in the 54th minute of play. If Norbert Konopka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute of the match, Norbert Konopka tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jerônimo Maranhense saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jipa RO were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Nitra FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. 邓轩升 took the corner. The audience was convinced that Norbert Konopka's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerônimo Maranhense was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Jipa RO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by 邓轩升 in the 78th minute. After taking down the ball on Jipa RO's corner 邓轩升 fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jerônimo Maranhense quite easily take care of the ball. Fabinho Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nando Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabinho Prestes having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, 邓轩升 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jipa RO's supporters rose to their feet, but 邓轩升 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerônimo Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Nitra FC defense, Norbert Konopka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerônimo Maranhense. The Nitra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerônimo Maranhense should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the match, Nitra FC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norbert Konopka. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Dias during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
