The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Alexandre Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Claudinei Alvarenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 7th minute, Alexandre Souto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Claudinei Alvarenga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Torreão OFF's Claudinei Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Souto in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Jeronimo Sagrario left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC São José fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Alexandre Souto sped through Torreão OFF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claudinei Alvarenga. Virgílio Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Alvarenga having to interfere. Claudinei Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Souto in the 21st minute of the match. Jeronimo Sagrario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudinei Alvarenga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Torreão OFF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Virgílio Teles was slow to take the kick. During this time EC São José's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Dorival Sena managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 30 minutes into the game, Franco Cristaldo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Claudinei Alvarenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Virgílio Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Torreão OFF's zone, Alexandre Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Alvarenga came out of the goal and Alexandre Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes in the game Virgílio Teles did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Glauco Carneiro. Torreão OFF's Claudinei Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Sagrario in the 41st minute of play. After 45 played minutes, EC São José's Virgílio Teles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudinei Alvarenga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in EC São José reached it. After 48 minutes, Alexandre Souto made it 0-8 with a short kick to the right side. Torreão OFF's Claudinei Alvarenga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandre Souto to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, EC São José's Franco Cristaldo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. Alexandre Soutos short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Claudinei Alvarenga to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 58th minute, Jeronimo Sagrario made a precise shot to the right of Claudinei Alvarenga. Torreão OFF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-10. The crowd rose to their feet as EC São José's Jeronimo Sagrario slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Claudinei Alvarenga. That made the score 0-11 after 62 minutes of play. 66 minutes into the game, EC São José's Alexandre Souto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinei Alvarenga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-12. A collision led to Torreão OFF getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Geovani Araújo hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Torreão OFF's Geovani Araújo got a free kick in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Torreão OFF's zone, Luiz Fernando Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Alvarenga came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandre Souto took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinei Alvarenga. Claudinei Alvarenga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-13. In the 76th match minute, EC São José was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Cristaldo to maneuver through the defense. Fellipe Velloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorian Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fellipe Velloso ran back to his position shaking his head. EC São José's Dorian Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fellipe Velloso in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th play minute Jeronimo Sagrario came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Claudinei Alvarenga. 0-14. Claudinei Alvarenga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexandre Souto in the 82nd minute. Claudinei Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by EC São José's Alexandre Souto. But to his dismay, Alexandre Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-15. Alexandre Soutos short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Claudinei Alvarenga to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 88th minute, Glauco Carneiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claudinei Alvarenga. The goal made the score 0-16. Arí Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the match was over EC São José could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Torreão OFF throughout the match.
