The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Raul Isauro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PGE FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Banda del Tinto the free kick. In the 4th match minute, PGE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Isauro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixto Baristo in the 7th minute of play forced PGE FC's goalkeeper Rolando Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Sixto Baristo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Merexildo. PGE FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sixto Baristo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 12th match minute, La Banda del Tinto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Berriotxoa to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 17 minutes, Sixto Baristo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Banda del Tinto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sixto Baristo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in PGE FC's zone, Sixto Baristo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Merexildo came out of the goal and Sixto Baristo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, PGE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Baristo came free, but Rolando Merexildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Merexildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sixto Baristo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Merexildo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Baristo in the 23rd minute of play. PGE FC's Rolando Merexildo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sixto Baristo in the 25th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, La Banda del Tinto's goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Teofilio came free, but Peyo Kaadekilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Merexildo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sixto Baristo went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sixto Baristo to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Sixto Baristo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Rolando Merexildo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rolando Merexildo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixto Baristo in the 57th minute of the match. Romeo Berriotxoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Merexildo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sixto Baristo went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the PGE FC defense, Sixto Baristo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Merexildo. The PGE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Merexildo should have stopped the shot. Frank Fabra kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by PGE FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Celedonio Bernebe was slow to take the kick. During this time La Banda del Tinto's players had a chance to rest. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind PGE FC's goalkeeper Rolando Merexildo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The PGE FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Banda del Tinto were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
