After having played for 6 minutes, Maurizio Costanzo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético y Tiro Rqta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurizio Costanzo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th minute Tomás Goren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Valentine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tomás Goren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Goren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Leonides Valentine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24thth minute of the game Raimundo Castulo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético y Tiro Rqta's Abelardo Berenguer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Severino Benino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Leonides Valentine made a huge save. Severino Benino hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A hard shot 41 in the game by Tomás Goren from a close distance when the talented Leonides Valentine managed to make a qualified save. Argentino de Banfield's players were relieved. In the 43rd minute Aurelio Nesor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Berenguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético y Tiro Rqta's Tomás Goren got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomás Goren to make the kick off. Abelardo Berenguer made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Raimundo Castulo sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Argentino de Banfield's zone, Severino Benino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Valentine came out of the goal and Severino Benino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Argentino de Banfield booed when Atlético y Tiro Rqta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Munio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Argentino de Banfield's Leonides Valentine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro Valverde in the 67th minute of play. Abelardo Berenguer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermengildo Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Aurelio Nesor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Abelardo Berenguer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Argentino de Banfield's Leonides Valentine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro Valverde in the 76th minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Argentino de Banfield's goalie and right to Severino Benino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Argentino de Banfield's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 83rd minute of the match Atlético y Tiro Rqta got a corner. Argentino de Banfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alvaro Izotz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alvaro Izotz made a great header on Atlético y Tiro Rqta's corner, it was just that Argentino de Banfield's Leonides Valentine managed to reach the ball for a save. Abelardo Berenguer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Nesor in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Atlético y Tiro Rqta's Severino Benino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonides Valentine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The supporters of Argentino de Banfield booed when Atlético y Tiro Rqta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Munio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
