The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Nippur de Lagash 2's Tito Chayo got control of the ball when Arsenio Peruanton tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of General Tanz II booed when Nippur de Lagash 2 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Navarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Nippur de Lagash 2's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Tonete came free, but Tito Chayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute Basilio Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tito Chayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match, Arsenio Peruanton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tito Chayo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Arsenio Peruanton took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tito Chayo to make any attempt to save it. Roberto Ayala made in the 43rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Nippur de Lagash 2's Benjamin Navarro. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casimiro Cordarell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Nippur de Lagash 2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Uxio to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in General Tanz II's zone, Casimiro Cordarell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natalio Montrel came out of the goal and Casimiro Cordarell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute Israel Oliviero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Montrel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benigno Tonete in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tito Chayo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Esquipula in the 64th minute of play forced Nippur de Lagash 2's goalkeeper Tito Chayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tito Chayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Abancens in the 65th minute of play. Tito Chayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Tonete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Casimiro Cordarell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the General Tanz II players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
