Noisiel's Karlheinz Ludecke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Gol in the 5th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harold Combettes got free with Yahia van der Saar in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Harold Combettes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yahia van der Saar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Noisiel's Karlheinz Ludecke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Kapellos in the 16th minute of play. The Sheriff fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, Harold Combettes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yahia van der Saar. Sheriff's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harold Combettes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
