The referee ignored Cheetah Team's protests and gave Sivert Nord a yellow card for diving instead. 15 minutes into the game, one of Cheetah Team:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 1-1 came through a penalty shot after 17 played minutes, when Empo FF:s Isac Mellbad calmly waited for Cheetah Team:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. In the 19th minute, Valter Mellin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Empo FF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Isac Mellbad in the 22nd minute. Cesare Varglien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Hammarbäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Claes Caspersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Leoncio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valter Mellin might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cesare Varglien. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valter Mellin ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Hammarbäck in the 48th minute of play forced Empo FF's goalkeeper Cesare Varglien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
