Mecnun Başer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kevin Amado came out and tried to block the shot, but Mecnun Başer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. Kevin Amado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mecnun Başer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samsunspor's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mehmet Osman Cerit in the 19th minute. The corner led Samsunspor's Mehmet Osman Cerit to fire away a dangerous shot which Kevin Amado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Denizli's Sadettin Uzcan got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Şafak Semih made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sadettin Uzcan in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's Müfit Tolgahan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevin Amado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Denizli's goal looked a bit too open when Müfit Tolgahan came free, but Kevin Amado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şafak Şeref got free with Kevin Amado in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Şafak Semih showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sadettin Uzcan in the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, Denizli's Sadettin Uzcan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Şafak Semih made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Sadettin Uzcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Şafak Semih tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Sadettin Uzcan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denizli's supporters rose to their feet, but Sadettin Uzcan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şafak Semih breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, one of Samsunspor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Samsunspor. In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Denizli. Kerim Ötüken stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Şafak Semih. 1-3. After some careless play in the Samsunspor defense, Kerim Ötüken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Şafak Semih. The Samsunspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şafak Semih should have stopped the shot. After the first half Denizli were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Müfit Tolgahan made a kick off. Gürhan Onurhan struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Şafak Semih didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denizli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sadettin Uzcan in the 67th minute of play forced Samsunspor's goalkeeper Şafak Semih to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dündar Akduman hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Samsunspor's Mehmet Osman Cerit in action when he in the 74th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Sadettin Uzcan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Şafak Semih skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sadettin Uzcan got free with Şafak Semih in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's goal looked a bit too open when Kerim Ötüken came free, but Şafak Semih reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Şafak Semih was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Sadettin Uzcan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sadettin Uzcan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. If Kerim Ötüken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
