An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Agnes in the 12th minute of play forced American Top Team's goalkeeper Merrill Suarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tracy Brunson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Fred Hamilton notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Kentucky Mustangs's Stanford Peters. Stanford Peters was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tracy Brunson in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Merrill Suarez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Merrill Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Agnes in the 22nd minute of play. Tracy Brunson might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Merrill Suarez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tracy Brunson ran back to his position shaking his head. 25 minutes into the match, Kentucky Mustangs's goal looked a bit too open when Winford Craig came free, but Stanford Peters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. American Top Team's Merrill Suarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Agnes in the 29th minute of play. Stanford Peters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeramy Pina in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of American Top Team booed when Kentucky Mustangs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gao Lang Feng didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Merrill Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tracy Brunson in the 51st minute of play. After 53 played minutes American Top Team got a freekick which was hit by Octavio Winters. Jack Agnes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Merrill Suarez made a huge save. Jack Agnes scored 1-2 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Merrill Suarez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Merrill Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tracy Brunson in the 62nd minute of play. Merrill Suarez was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Jack Agnes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jack Agnes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Jack Agnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tracy Brunson kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After 84 minutes of play, American Top Team's Garth Dotson made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stanford Peters was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute Tracy Brunson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merrill Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jack Agnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Merrill Suarez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, American Top Team's Merrill Suarez got control of the ball when Jack Agnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. American Top Team's Merrill Suarez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save American Top Team from getting a goal against them. Tracy Brunson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Merrill Suarez came out and tried to block the shot, but Tracy Brunson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 94th minute.
