Bert Justens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lonnie Hurley having to interfere. Key Biscayne FC's Lonnie Hurley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Quiroga in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Nomads Football Club's Aurelio Bernal got a free kick in the 8th minute. Teofilo Amato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlo Bloom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bert Justens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Lonnie Hurley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 19 in the game by Bert Justens from a close distance when the talented Lonnie Hurley managed to make a qualified save. Key Biscayne FC's players were relieved. After 24 played minutes Nomads Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Iosub. Genaro Knutson hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Lonnie Hurley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Teofilo Amato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlo Bloom in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Bert Justens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nomads Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Bert Justens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lonnie Hurley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Bert Justens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Key Biscayne FC's zone, Bert Justens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lonnie Hurley came out of the goal and Bert Justens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lonnie Hurley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Quiroga in the 42nd minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Claudio Quiroga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lonnie Hurley. Key Biscayne FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudio Quiroga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Bert Justens made the kick off in the second half. Key Biscayne FC's Alex Hyatt got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teofilo Amato made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Alex Hyatt sent off a good shot on target. 65 minutes into the match, Holger Dennon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lonnie Hurley. Key Biscayne FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Holger Dennon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When Russ Mora came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Nomads Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russ Mora couldn't finish the play. Lonnie Hurley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bert Justens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nomads Football Club were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Key Biscayne FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Holger Dennon took the corner. Nomads Football Club's Johannes Söderkvist was substituted for Claudio Quiroga. When Nomads Football Club's Bert Justens in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Holger Dennon made a great header on Nomads Football Club's corner, it was just that Key Biscayne FC's Lonnie Hurley managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Georges Collard got free with Teofilo Amato in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
