Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Garry Cobb successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hamburg's zone, Matty Robson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alban Bolesta came out of the goal and Matty Robson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alban Bolesta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Garry Cobb didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Finn Bartels went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of FC Hamburg booed when White Eagles FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yngve Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The White Eagles FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing White Eagles FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
