Martin Zafiu lost his temper 16 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Lionel Messi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Santiago Torres having to make a save. Santiago Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Svartengren in the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, INTER de Córdoba's goalkeeper Santiago Torres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lionel Messi. With a left leg Santiago Torres saved INTER de Córdoba from getting behind. 47 minutes into the game, BARRILETE COSMICO's Lázaro Hulberto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Santiago Torres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damián Åkerman made a kick off. Santiago Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Svartengren in the 56th minute of play. Americo Felipo was a little too slow when Damián Åkerman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Hulberto in the 64th minute of play forced INTER de Córdoba's goalkeeper Santiago Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Justino Eusko managed to get in a good position for a shot.
