In the 8th minute of the match Inter de Guayaquil FC got a corner. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Salvador Musacchio ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Stéphane Brault played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Svartengren in the 21st minute of play. Stéphane Brault took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jörn Svartengren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramon Centurión's late challenge caught a Inter de Guayaquil FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramon Centurión helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Ramon Centurión hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Inter de Guayaquil FC. Jörn Svartengren stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stéphane Brault. 0-2. Stéphane Brault made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Feyyaz Erol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Guayaquil FC the free kick. After 36 played minutes Pepsi Fuchibol Clu got a freekick which was hit by Feyyaz Erol. Jörn Svartengren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stéphane Brault having to make a save. Stéphane Brault made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jörn Svartengren in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stéphane Brault prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute, Cordera Abella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Stéphane Brault played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Svartengren in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Kismi Abad got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's zone, Jörn Svartengren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stéphane Brault came out of the goal and Jörn Svartengren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute, Jörn Svartengren made a precise shot to the right of Stéphane Brault. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The Pepsi Fuchibol Clu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Inter de Guayaquil FC were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tytus Dudkowski was the one to do the kick off. Jörn Svartengren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tytus Dudkowski in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörn Svartengren got free with Stéphane Brault in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kismi Abad kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona was substituted for Jörn Svartengren. Ramon Centurión hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's goalkeeper Stéphane Brault had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jakub Ziombkowski. Inter de Guayaquil FC made a substitution. Humberto Barragan replaced Lorenzo Acutain. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Stéphane Brault proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Pepsi Fuchibol Clu from getting a goal against them. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jakub Ziombkowski got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Hellkvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavierlada Abarca's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feyyaz Erol in the 84th minute of play. Feyyaz Erol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Hellkvist having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's goal looked a bit too open when Mateusz Giertych came free, but Stéphane Brault reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stéphane Brault made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jakub Ziombkowski in the 94th minute. Éric Cantona was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. Inter de Guayaquil FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The Pepsi Fuchibol Clu supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Inter de Guayaquil FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Inter de Guayaquil FC.
