The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Omar Duardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio Santos in the 3rd minute. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Omar Duardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xande Chaves in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genko Balevski in the 10th minute of play forced ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s goalkeeper João Vítor Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 played minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Farias. Omar Duardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Santos in the 15th minute of the match. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Xande Chaves in the 16th minute. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Xande Chaves was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Omar Duardo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Genko Balevski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Vítor Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Antônio Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Omar Duardo was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Genko Balevski might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Vítor Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genko Balevski ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ booed when CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antônio Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Omar Duardo having to make a save. Antônio Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Omar Duardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genko Balevski took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Vítor Arósio. João Vítor Arósio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Omar Duardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romeo Farias hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. With a little luck, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Omar Duardo got control of the ball when Antônio Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 47 played minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Arruda.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antônio Santos to make the kick off. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. The CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Duardo should have stopped the shot.
