Red Reign's Xavion Sorriva managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Feliksas Čepulionis in the 16 minute of the game. In the 17th minute, Eloy Su hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Jesco in the 24th minute of play forced Red Reign's goalkeeper Dawid Ratulowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sonny Corleone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Villamarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Red Reign's Derlis Florentin got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 38thth minute of the game Maximo Villamarin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hermosillo FC's Sonny Corleone was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sonny Corleone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximo Villamarin's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Baltasar Jesco sped through Red Reign's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dawid Ratulowski.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baltasar Jesco made a kick off. If Maximo Villamarin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sonny Corleone made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Maximo Villamarin sent off a good shot on target. Hermosillo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Maximo Villamarin scored to the left of an out of position Sonny Corleone, making the score, 1-1.
