Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Karlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dawid Beckham in the 6th minute of the match. Venancio Estavan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Roberto Eztebe made a huge save. Aureliano Karlo might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Branislav Velchevski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aureliano Karlo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Karlo in the 10th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Aureliano Karlo came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aureliano Karlo couldn't finish the play. Roberto Eztebe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Francis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Aureliano Karlo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Branislav Velchevski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Germano Bettencourt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Timoteo Basualdo, made in the 19th minute of the game. Aureliano Karlo took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Branislav Velchevski. Branislav Velchevski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 29th minute of the match Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ got a corner. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dawid Beckham ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Karlo in the 32nd minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute Elpidio Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Eztebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Aureliano Karlo made a precise shot to the right of Branislav Velchevski. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. With a little luck, Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Roberto Eztebe got control of the ball when Elpidio Francis tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Francis made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aureliano Karlo in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Branislav Velchevski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roberto Eztebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Francis in the 56th minute of play. Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Germano Bettencourt managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Timoteo Basualdo in the 59 minute of the game. Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dawid Beckham took the corner. 68 minutes into the match, Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Aureliano Karlo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Branislav Velchevski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Miguel Prosperi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Roberto Eztebe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ made a substitution. Segundo Vito replaced Guido Txindoki. Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Julien Staffelbach was substituted for Aureliano Karlo. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús was substituted for Miguel Prosperi. Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Roberto Eztebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Monclús in the 74th minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Venancio Estavan took the corner. The corner led ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Venancio Estavan to fire away a dangerous shot which Roberto Eztebe despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julien Staffelbach received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Branislav Velchevski came out and tried to block the shot, but Julien Staffelbach slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 77th minute. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's goalkeeper Roberto Eztebe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute André Monclús shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Eztebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul Vase hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Venancio Estavan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
