The crowd rose to their feet as Ponte do Carro's Simão Boaventura slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edvaldo Brasil. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. Armindo Maltez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Paraense in the 12th minute of the match. Armindo Maltez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Guilherme Paraense's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. If Agostinho Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvaldo Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Boaventura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Luiz Guilherme Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Maltez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Maltez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Carneiro in the 24th minute of play. Armindo Maltez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Salles in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Boaventura in the 31st minute of play forced SAS's goalkeeper Edvaldo Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Maltez having to interfere. The supporters of Ponte do Carro booed when SAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loukianos Livas to make the kick off. Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Ponte do Carro from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Armindo Maltez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Salles. After 57 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Trevisan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loukianos Livas in the 58th managed to get into a good position. Edvaldo Brasil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 80th minute, Loukianos Livas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edvaldo Brasil was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Ponte do Carro's Manuel Carvalhal was substituted for Gregório Jesus. In the 85th minute of the match, Edgar Salles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armindo Maltez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rogério Palmeira scored 5-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edvaldo Brasil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
