The supporters of Asproyerakáta booed when Toronto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Selmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alkyoneus Mitsinikos struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Uriel Veremundo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Asproyerakáta. Agesilaus Lalagos made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Serafino Dimo sent off a good shot on target. If Epigonoi Tsaousidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 15 minutes into the game, Armando Iraunkor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toronto FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Asproyerakáta the free kick. In the 16th minute Alkyoneus Mitsinikos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uriel Veremundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Iraunkor kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Asproyerakáta's zone, Serafino Dimo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agesilaus Lalagos came out of the goal and Serafino Dimo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iakobos Kavallieratos in the 30th minute of play forced Toronto FC's goalkeeper Uriel Veremundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32nd play minutes Serafino Dimo shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Agesilaus Lalagos and just under the crossbar into goal. Uriel Veremundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alkyoneus Mitsinikos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agesilaus Lalagos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Banegas's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Toronto FC were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Asproyerakáta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Serafino Dimo took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Armando Manuelo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Serafino Dimo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Agesilaus Lalagos made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alkyoneus Mitsinikos made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Leopoldo Banegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toronto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Banegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Armando Iraunkor was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. A collision led to Toronto FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Armando Iraunkor hit a great ball. If Esteban Raymundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Asproyerakáta's zone, Leopoldo Banegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agesilaus Lalagos came out of the goal and Leopoldo Banegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Leopoldo Banegas came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Toronto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Banegas couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute, Leopoldo Banegas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Toronto FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Leopoldo Banegas took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agesilaus Lalagos. Agesilaus Lalagos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. When Leopoldo Banegas fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Toronto FC's protests and gave Leopoldo Banegas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Toronto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Banegas to maneuver through the defense. Iakobos Kavallieratos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Uriel Veremundo made a huge save. Leopoldo Banegas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Epigonoi Tsaousidis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Uriel Veremundo, passed just outside the right post. Asproyerakáta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
