Zeledon Savion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnold Szuper read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's goal looked a bit too open when Aristide Ciuvică came free, but Arnold Szuper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Silvestre Semeno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Szombathely Squirrels defense, Zeledon Savion kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnold Szuper. The Szombathely Squirrels fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnold Szuper should have stopped the shot. After 46 minutes, Luciano Aued mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Szombathely Squirrels and the AC LeX Luthor players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arnold Szuper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristide Ciuvică in the 58th minute of play. Szombathely Squirrels made a substitution. Lei Jian Xiong replaced Tivadar Demeter. A collision led to AC LeX Luthor getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Silvestre Semeno hit a great ball. After 61 minutes of play, Szombathely Squirrels's Lei Jian Xiong made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peep Pronk in the 86th minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peep Pronk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnold Szuper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peep Pronk in the 90th minute of play. After 91 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Mon Key. When Mon Key fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szombathely Squirrels's protests and gave Mon Key a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd match minute, Szombathely Squirrels was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mon Key to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Godfredo Oriche in the 96th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Szombathely Squirrels's Tamás Szentesi.
