Bas Fikkers's late challenge caught a Cogran AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Engwerd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudi Huiting should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute Jim Aelbrecht shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blathmac Bayes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Beamard Martyn to make the kick off. Coran Taylor was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 55 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute Robbie Zandstra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blathmac Bayes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Blathmac Bayes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Conor Crowe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Blathmac Bayes made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Pascall van der Meijde sent off a good shot on target. The Cogran AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Engwerd had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
