An unexpectedly hard shot by Vecdi Başesgioğlu in the 8th minute of play forced T H F C's goalkeeper Sydney Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Mato Špišić sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Walton in the 11th minute of play forced Greenbay's goalkeeper Jack Gates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Andre Shakespeare took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Sydney Mendonça to make any attempt to save it. Jack Gates showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Walton, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Greenbay were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after T H F C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mesut Özil took the corner. After a rather tough play, T H F C's Rowan Tyler got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Sydney Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andre Shakespeare in the 34th minute. The supporters of T H F C booed when Greenbay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vecdi Başesgioğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Reg Pyrah took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jack Gates to make any attempt to save it. Mesut Özil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Mendonça having to interfere. T H F C's Nick Blackwater was substituted for Tosh Burns. In the 68th minute Vecdi Başesgioğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sydney Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Greenbay's Vecdi Başesgioğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sydney Mendonça made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. If Lee Walton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as T H F C's Lee Walton slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jack Gates. That made the score 2-2 after 75 minutes of play. Mesut Özil's late challenge caught a T H F C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mesut Özil helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Greenbay booed when T H F C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowan Tyler didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
