After 2 played minutes Mountain West FC got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Miranda. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Vito Lange played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roderick Burnham in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Mountain West FC's Calvin Cayla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vito Lange made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Dominic Quinn kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Pascal Collier came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Drew Tobin. But to his dismay, Drew Tobin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Pascal Collier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Drew Tobin in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Mountain West FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmed Sapp came free, but Pascal Collier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pascal Collier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ahmed Sapp's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 18 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Ahmed Sapp fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 22 minutes into the game, Sammy Nixon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Vito Lange was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeffrey Marino charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeffrey Marino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mountain West FC's Jeffrey Marino got a free kick in the 25th minute. Vito Lange made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Nixon in the 27th minute of play. Steve Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Felix Ryder hit a great ball. Calvin Cayla took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vito Lange. Vito Lange dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Nixon in the 46th minute of play forced DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's goalkeeper Vito Lange to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mountain West FC booed when DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flint Barger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sammy Nixon to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Calvin Cayla took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Vito Lange to make any attempt to save it. Pascal Collier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmed Sapp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Sammy Nixon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vito Lange was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Mountain West FC's Vito Lange threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Calvin Cayla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vito Lange was a little too slow when Calvin Cayla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 1-5. 66 minutes into the match, Calvin Cayla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vito Lange, 1-6. If Calvin Cayla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mountain West FC's Steve Mata got a free kick in the 74th minute. During the 76th minute of the match Steve Mata completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Steve Mata a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Steve Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Mountain West FC's goal looked a bit too open when Drew Tobin came free, but Pascal Collier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Sammy Nixon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mountain West FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sammy Nixon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito Lange breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pascal Collier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezra Dotson in the 82nd minute of play. Guillermo Cermak charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Cermak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mountain West FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
