The supporters of Atlético Patoruzu booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Coulter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Jewell to maneuver through the defense. Errol Sharpe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo Marcello's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Atlético Patoruzu's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcelo Marcello in the 15th minute. The corner ended in Javier Rodriguez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Santos FC's Errol Sharpe did a great save. Kris Marks kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Teobaldo Gaizkine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josef Carlisle hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Santos FC's Kris Marks got his second yellow card of the match in the 26th minute. The referee ordered Kris Marks off the ground. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Kris Marks got a free kick in the 27th minute. Jason Douglas hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Marcelo Marcello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Errol Sharpe came out of the goal and Marcelo Marcello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Reyes Ritter fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 37 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Coulter. Anthony Wall scored 1-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Joyce, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Marcello to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Giuseppe Jewell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Joyce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Louis Ragland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tony Joyce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reyes Ritter kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Giuseppe Jewell made a precise shot to the right of Tony Joyce. Atlético Patoruzu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 69th minute, Santos FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Javier Rodriguez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Reyes Ritter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Joyce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Patoruzu's goalkeeper Tony Joyce, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Errol Sharpe managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Atlético Patoruzu's Marcelo Marcello fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 81 minutes into the game, Reyes Ritter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Tony Joyce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 84th minute Marcelo Marcello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Errol Sharpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jimmy Coulter hit a great ball. Marcelo Marcello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Errol Sharpe having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Jason Douglas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Patoruzu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jason Douglas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giuseppe Jewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Joyce having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Santos FC had won after a very even match.
