Seating: 667, VIP seats: 57) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when John McInroy kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd minute, John McInroy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chelsea Headhunters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 5th minute, Baoithin Doherty reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mark Day. The goal made the score 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barhan Barrett during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Barhan Barrett kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, 1948 MKS's Barhan Barrett got a free kick in the 10th minute. 16 minutes into the game, 1948 MKS's Baoithin Doherty nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mark Day made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Gandalf Szarpak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Mark Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Chelsea Headhunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Allanson to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Gandalf Szarpak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mark Day. Chelsea Headhunters's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gandalf Szarpak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baoithin Doherty in the 28th minute of play forced Chelsea Headhunters's goalkeeper Mark Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If John McInroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Terence Whyte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chelsea Headhunters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. A collision led to Chelsea Headhunters getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. John McInroy hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Gandalf Szarpak reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mark Day. The goal made the score 6-2. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-2 at half-time.
The wind increased when Patty McGlynn made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, John McInroy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hickey Dunne. John McInroy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-3. Mark Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patty McGlynn's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 58th minute Baoithin Doherty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patty McGlynn, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Larry Lenny kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Baoithin Doherty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gandalf Szarpak might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mark Day. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gandalf Szarpak ran back to his position shaking his head. If Patty McGlynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mark Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patty McGlynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mark Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patty McGlynn in the 74th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Shane McSwen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea Headhunters's supporters rose to their feet, but Shane McSwen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hickey Dunne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Barhan Barrett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Chelsea Headhunters's goal looked a bit too open when Patty McGlynn came free, but Mark Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tipper Mulvihill, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Brannan McLaughlin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mark Day having to make a save. In the 94th minute Terence Whyte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hickey Dunne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that 1948 MKS were the better team. 1948 MKS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
