With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavier Hernández in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gordon Banks saved HFA FC from getting behind. Damian Natal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godfredo Costante's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Club Deportivo Español's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Saturnino Remir in the 29th minute. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Silvio Piorno got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-0. 29 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes Club Deportivo Español got a freekick which was hit by Nicolás Otta. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Club Deportivo Español! In the 39th minute there was a penalty for HFA FC. Joel Eder stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Damian Natal. 1-1. A collision led to HFA FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Abel Estevez hit a great ball. Gordon Banks made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Luis Timo sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelo Gutxi made a kick off. If Marcelo Gutxi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alejo Cesario was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 59 minutes into the game, Godfredo Costante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HFA FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportivo Español the free kick. The supporters of Club Deportivo Español booed when HFA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Costante didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Natal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Gutxi in the 62nd minute. Damian Natal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfredo Costante, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Damian Natal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Cesario in the 75th minute of play. After 75 minutes of play, HFA FC's Alejo Cesario made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Damian Natal was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Club Deportivo Español's Xavier Hernández in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye HFA FC's goalie prevented a goal. Damian Natal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Gutxi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolás Otta's late challenge caught a HFA FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
