Edgard Cordarrol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Crişan Taffarel made a huge save. Dario Benedetto took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Goycochea. Sérgio Goycochea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 27 minutes into the game, Esteban Ignado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Sérgio Goycochea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ defense, Esteban Ignado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Goycochea. The ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Goycochea should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Emanuel Eleazar got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute Esteban Ignado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Goycochea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goal looked a bit too open when Dario Benedetto came free, but Sérgio Goycochea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Crişan Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Hug got free with Sérgio Goycochea in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sérgio Goycochea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Benedetto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
