Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Piscopo in the 2nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vilis Mikulics prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Piscopo in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vilis Mikulics saved SK Annenieki from getting behind. After having played for 5 minutes, Toms Blīdumnieks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Annenieki's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toms Blīdumnieks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Edward Ellis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vilis Mikulics was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. 8 minutes into the game, Toms Blīdumnieks was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Annenieki's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Floriana Celtics the free kick. Tyron Tufignio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zigmunds Lasmans in the 14th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Zigmunds Lasmans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tyron Tufignio. Floriana Celtics's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zigmunds Lasmans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Mike Stivala took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vilis Mikulics. SK Annenieki's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Edward Ellis put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Vilis Mikulics. In the 24th minute Miguel Piscopo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilis Mikulics saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Floriana Celtics's Miguel Piscopo got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Piscopo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edward Ellis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Vilis Mikulics tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ģirts Bojārs hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Miguel Piscopo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vilis Mikulics. SK Annenieki's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Miguel Piscopo sped through SK Annenieki's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vilis Mikulics. 1-3 became the score in the 47th minute when Miguel Piscopo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, SK Annenieki's Vilis Mikulics got control of the ball when Edward Ellis tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Floriana Celtics getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Zach Massa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artis Udots in the 62nd minute of play forced Floriana Celtics's goalkeeper Tyron Tufignio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Ellis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Vilis Mikulics tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edward Ellis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Vilis Mikulics skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Edward Ellis in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vilis Mikulics, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nikolai Muscat's late challenge caught a SK Annenieki's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nikolai Muscat helped the player get up and apologised. 78 minutes into the match, SK Annenieki's Valgudis Lībeks broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind SK Annenieki's goalkeeper Vilis Mikulics, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Miguel Piscopo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vilis Mikulics showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zach Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Vilis Mikulics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Piscopo in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Floriana Celtics booed when SK Annenieki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toms Blīdumnieks didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, SK Annenieki's Vilis Mikulics got control of the ball when Josh Carbonaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nikolai Muscat was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 98 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Floriana Celtics fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 97th minute. Penalty! When the final whistle sounded Floriana Celtics left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SK Annenieki.
