Escuadrón Mercenario's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alianza Trujillo the free kick. In the 15th minute, one of Escuadrón Mercenario:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Escuadrón Mercenario. Enrique Abeijon took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ximenes Barnechea. Ximenes Barnechea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 34 minutes Alianza Trujillo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mattin Abechuco who took care of the corner kick. Estevao Abalos made a great header on Escuadrón Mercenario's corner, it was just that Alianza Trujillo's Ximenes Barnechea managed to reach the ball for a save. 36 minutes into the match, Escuadrón Mercenario's goal looked a bit too open when Hernán Barco came free, but Gorka Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Iraido Angosto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaufred Parraga got free with Gorka Abel in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Escuadrón Mercenario's Gorka Abel got control of the ball when Gaufred Parraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Estevon Abancens in the 47th minute of play forced Alianza Trujillo's goalkeeper Ximenes Barnechea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Estevon Abancens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ximenes Barnechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevon Abancens in the 51st minute of play. If Hernán Barco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute Estevon Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenes Barnechea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iraido Angosto hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Alianza Trujillo's Nicholas Colunga was substituted for Vincent Mirabel. Alianza Trujillo made a substitution. Alberto Antoñano replaced Vellito Berges. In the 63rd minute, Iraido Angosto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ximenes Barnechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevon Abancens in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Estevon Abancens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ximenes Barnechea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Estevao Abalos came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ximenes Barnechea could save by the left post. Ximenes Barnechea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Estevon Abancens in the 72nd minute. Gorka Abel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Markel Romay, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Escuadrón Mercenario's goal looked a bit too open when Markel Romay came free, but Gorka Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 minutes, Oliveiro Urbiso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alianza Trujillo and the Escuadrón Mercenario players grew even worse after the yellow card. 81 minutes into the match, Escuadrón Mercenario's goal looked a bit too open when Markel Romay came free, but Gorka Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Siro Santamaria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gorka Abel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernán Barco in the 93rd minute of play. Hernán Barco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gorka Abel having to interfere.
