The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Fluminense di Parma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio Xavier should have stopped the shot. The Fluminense di Parma fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Botafogo MZRJ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
