Jimmy Estopinal started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, C.A. GUAYACO's Jimmy Estopinal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnny Conill narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jimmy Estopinal in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Conill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 7 minutes, Jimmy Estopinal made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Club Puerto Quito's Johnny Conill tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. C.A. GUAYACO's Jimmy Estopinal got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Rodríguez Celerain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnny Conill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Arona in the 15th minute of the match. Rolando Devalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karol Haskiewicz having to interfere. Johnny Arona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimmy Estopinal in the 22nd minute of play forced Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Johnny Conill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johnny Conill showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jimmy Estopinal in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Conill saved Club Puerto Quito from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Marino Grazia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 33 minutes, Rolando Devalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Puerto Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolando Devalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Jimmy Estopinal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Puerto Quito's Johnny Conill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 38 minutes, Rodríguez Celerain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Puerto Quito and the C.A. GUAYACO players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Club Puerto Quito getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Rodríguez Celerain hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Mariusz Rykaczewski managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. GUAYACO's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariusz Rykaczewski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Conill breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joao Hincapié kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Jimmy Estopinal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Club Puerto Quito players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C.A. GUAYACO were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rolando Devalla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Club Puerto Quito's Pico Garonaga got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute of the match Johnny Arona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johnny Conill skillfully saved the ball. C.A. GUAYACO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Johnny Arona in the 59th minute. Jimmy Estopinal had several of the Club Puerto Quito's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 61 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Johnny Conill as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Rolando Devalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute Robin Cabero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karol Haskiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pico Garonaga hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Joao Hincapié's late challenge caught a Club Puerto Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joao Hincapié helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes C.A. GUAYACO got a freekick which was hit by Joao Hincapié. After 71 minutes, Robin Cabero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Puerto Quito and the C.A. GUAYACO players grew even worse after the yellow card. GUAYACO's zone, Rolando Devalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karol Haskiewicz came out of the goal and Rolando Devalla tried to chip the ball over his head. GUAYACO's goalkeeper Karol Haskiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnny Conill made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jimmy Estopinal sent off a good shot on target. Club Puerto Quito's Johnny Conill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Estopinal in the 88th minute of play. After 93 played minutes Club Puerto Quito got a freekick which was hit by Rodríguez Celerain.
