Asensio Berzosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th minute, Guillermo Colon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Silvio Morelo. The goal made the score 1-0. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras de Ecuador's Zilar Barcena got a free kick in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Gainzarain in the 11th minute of play forced Palmeiras de Ecuador's goalkeeper Silvio Morelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Héctor Gainzarain took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Silvio Morelo to make any attempt to save it. 19 minutes into the match, Palmeiras de Ecuador's goalkeeper Silvio Morelo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Colon. Victoro Garrote's late challenge caught a Roneros F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victoro Garrote helped the player get up and apologised. Victoro Garrote hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustín Olmedilla got free with Silvio Morelo in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Héctor Gainzarain kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silvio Morelo. That made the score 3-0 in the 27 minute of play. In the 31st minute, Roneros F.C.'s Guillermo Colon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. 41 minutes into the match, Palmeiras de Ecuador's goalkeeper Silvio Morelo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Colon. After 44 played minutes Palmeiras de Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Ysmael Ceraso. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denis Udrişte made a kick off. Silvio Morelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Héctor Gainzarain, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Denis Udrişte fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras de Ecuador's protests and gave Denis Udrişte a yellow card for diving instead. Denis Udrişte hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 59 minutes, Héctor Gainzarain made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Palmeiras de Ecuador's Silvio Morelo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 61 minutes, Ysmael Ceraso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmeiras de Ecuador and the Roneros F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Roneros F.C. booed when Palmeiras de Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ysmael Ceraso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 played minutes, Roneros F.C.'s Matías Oyola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvio Morelo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Roneros F.C. reached it. Silvio Morelo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guillermo Colon went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Denis Udrişte took a quick shot and it went in 6-1 without a chance for Asensio Berzosa to make any attempt to save it. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeiras de Ecuador's goalkeeper Silvio Morelo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd minute Guillermo Colon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Palmeiras de Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Zilar Barcena. Silvio Morelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Héctor Gainzarain, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When Guillermo Colon came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Roneros F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guillermo Colon couldn't finish the play. After having played for 87 minutes, Guillermo Colon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roneros F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Colon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th minute, Segundo Balaunde ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvio Morelo was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. Silvio Morelo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Héctor Gainzarain's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Roneros F.C. had played much better football throughout.
