Deportivo Lirayén's players were relieved. In the 12th minute, Tomas Vino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Chano Garrido from long distance, 13 minutes into the match, got Candido Gallegos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. A collision led to Deportivo Lirayén getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Rainerio Carcuro hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Ivo Basay took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Candido Gallegos to make any attempt to save it. Deportivo Lirayén's Candido Gallegos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlitos Caszely in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Deportivo Lirayén's goal looked a bit too open when Carlitos Caszely came free, but Candido Gallegos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Candido Gallegos was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Carlitos Caszely capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlitos Caszely really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. After 33 minutes, Fausto Chavez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Lirayén and the Colo-Colo players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mati Fernández in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Candido Gallegos saved Deportivo Lirayén from getting behind. Candido Gallegos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlitos Caszely, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Colo-Colo fully deserved thier win.
