In the 13th minute, Pete Partridge made a precise shot to the right of David Young. Greengates Goliaths's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Bradley Blueman might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Young. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bradley Blueman ran back to his position shaking his head. 18 minutes into the match, Pete Partridge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Young. Greengates Goliaths's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pete Partridge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Bradley Blueman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Billie Curtis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Egg Chasers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Ian Lawless could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Edward Preston made a huge save. In the 28th minute Bradley Blueman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Young saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Young showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Partridge, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. David Young showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradley Blueman in the 32nd minute of the match. If Ian Lawless had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leigh Stiles hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Pete Partridge made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Greengates Goliaths got a freekick which was hit by Allan Rushmere. 53 minutes into the match, Greengates Goliaths's goalkeeper David Young had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bradley Blueman. David Young didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradley Blueman went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Greengates Goliaths's David Young got control of the ball when Bradley Blueman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Allan Rushmere lost his temper 59 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 60th minute, Allan Rushmere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Partridge in the 63rd minute of play forced Greengates Goliaths's goalkeeper David Young to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 played minutes Greengates Goliaths got a freekick which was hit by Darius Metcalf. Pete Partridge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Young was a little too slow when Dylon Sands got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 0-6. Dylon Sands kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. David Young showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pete Partridge in the 71st minute of the match. David Young made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Billie Curtis sent off a good shot on target. Don Major, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. David Young showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dylon Sands, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 83rd minute, Pete Partridge ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Young was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. David Young didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradley Blueman went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. David Young was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Pete Partridge capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pete Partridge really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. 95 minutes into the match, Greengates Goliaths's goalkeeper David Young had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pete Partridge.
