After a rather tough play, ПФК „Левски“ София's Belcho Kerekov got a free kick in the 13th minute. Krasimir Balakov was a little too slow when Lulcho Trashliev got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. Kostadin Gadzhev kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Lulcho Trashliev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ПФК „Левски“ София's Krasimir Balakov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save ПФК „Левски“ София from getting a goal against them. Tencho Urmanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belcho Kerekov, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Toma Zhezhov's late challenge caught a ПФК „Левски“ София's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toma Zhezhov helped the player get up and apologised. Toma Zhezhov kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Lulcho Trashliev rounded ПФК „Левски“ София's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. In the 47th minute, Mavrudi Somlev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Belcho Kerekov made a kick off. Krasimir Balakov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lulcho Trashliev in the 57th minute of the match. When Belcho Kerekov came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the ПФК „Левски“ София fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belcho Kerekov couldn't finish the play. With his leg Tencho Urmanov managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when ПФК „Левски“ София's Belcho Kerekov fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belcho Kerekov in the 62nd minute of play forced Botev Plovdiv 1912's goalkeeper Tencho Urmanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tencho Urmanov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Belcho Kerekov went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Botev Plovdiv 1912's Dafin Pastirov was substituted for Genadi Manov. A collision led to Botev Plovdiv 1912 getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Dafin Pastirov hit a great ball. In the 78th minute Lulcho Trashliev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krasimir Balakov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th match minute, ПФК „Левски“ София was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elenko Klisurski to maneuver through the defense. The ПФК „Левски“ София fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Krasimir Balakov should have stopped the shot. Botev Plovdiv 1912 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
