Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mugur Nisipeanu in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calistrat Romaşcanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Petruț Roşca's late challenge caught a UFC STEAUA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petruț Roşca helped the player get up and apologised. Petruț Roşca kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Calistrat Romaşcanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nistor Fenici in the 16th minute of the match. If Nistor Fenici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 20th match minute, Romos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petruț Roşca to maneuver through the defense. Iosif Beligan's late challenge caught a UFC STEAUA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calistrat Romaşcanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Calistrat Romaşcanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugur Nisipeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Romos FC's goalkeeper Calistrat Romaşcanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Silviu Buzatu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romos FC's Calistrat Romaşcanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Nisipeanu in the 40th minute of play. Nistor Fenici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calistrat Romaşcanu having to interfere. Mugur Nisipeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mugur Nisipeanu to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Nistor Fenici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Romaşcanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A long shot from Filip Vulpăşin in the 60th minute of play was well struck, but Calistrat Romaşcanu made a really good save at the right post. Romos FC's Calistrat Romaşcanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nistor Fenici in the 66th minute of play. Marin Mihăileanu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Calistrat Romaşcanu came out and tried to block the shot, but Marin Mihăileanu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 72nd minute. Mugur Nisipeanu scored 0-6 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calistrat Romaşcanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Romos FC's Calistrat Romaşcanu got control of the ball when Mugur Nisipeanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ion Tonegaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Petruț Roşca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basarab Mâinea was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. After having played for 92 minutes, Marin Mihăileanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UFC STEAUA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marin Mihăileanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Romos FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Iosif Beligan hit a great ball. UFC STEAUA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
