The supporters of Manchester United booed when Sporting Angola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ailton Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tadeu Lourenço hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Sporting Angola defense, Azly Sim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emirares Felício. The Sporting Angola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emirares Felício should have stopped the shot. Samuel Chian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Miguel Jacinto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ali Nagasaki, 1-1. Joel Paine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Angola's Emirares Felício played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Azly Sim in the 36th minute of play. When Rodrigo De Matos fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Angola's protests and gave Rodrigo De Matos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Rodrigo De Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the game, Clive Dryburgh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Angola the free kick. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Clive Dryburgh hit a great ball. Ali Nagasaki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ailton Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Prime Nagasaki took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emirares Felício. Emirares Felício dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.
In the 54th minute, Rodrigo De Matos made a precise shot to the right of Ali Nagasaki. Manchester United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 59 minutes into the game, Albert Mathews was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Angola the free kick. Ailton Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ali Nagasaki having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Ailton Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Nagasaki came out of the goal and Ailton Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Dikaté's late challenge caught a Manchester United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Dikaté helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Sporting Angola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Dikaté didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azly Sim was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 66th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Sporting Angola's Tadeu Lourenço nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Nagasaki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ailton Gonçalves in the 72nd minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Ali Nagasaki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Afriz Au was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Angola the free kick. Afriz Au hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 79th match minute, Sporting Angola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Apalanga to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tadeu Lourenço in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ali Nagasaki saved Manchester United from getting behind. After 83 played minutes Sporting Angola got a freekick which was hit by David Dikaté. After 84 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Clive Dryburgh. The referee felt a red card was in order, 87 minutes into the game, when Clive Dryburgh put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Manchester United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Ailton Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Nagasaki having to interfere. Sporting Angola were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Manchester United for a fine match.
