After a rather tough play, Laniakea's Jan-Aage Ringstad got a free kick in the 19th minute. KEZ Toppfotball's Bjørnar Bach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole-Gunnar Gaustad in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Olav Nydal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Kristian Skansen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to KEZ Toppfotball getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jarle Hoddevik hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ole-Gunnar Gaustad in the 35th minute of play forced KEZ Toppfotball's goalkeeper Bjørnar Bach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laniakea's Samuel Wikstrøm got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ole-Gunnar Gaustad in the 39th minute of play forced KEZ Toppfotball's goalkeeper Bjørnar Bach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ole-Gunnar Gaustad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bjørnar Bach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ole-Gunnar Gaustad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ole-Gunnar Gaustad was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Ole-Gunnar Gaustad tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bjørnar Bach saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Olav Nydal's late challenge caught a Laniakea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olav Nydal helped the player get up and apologised. Olav Nydal kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. KEZ Toppfotball's Bjørnar Bach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole-Gunnar Gaustad in the 54th minute of play. Ole-Gunnar Gaustad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Bjørnar Bach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Laniakea's Ole-Gunnar Gaustad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bjørnar Bach. That made the score 0-1 after 58 minutes of play. KEZ Toppfotball's Jarle Hoddevik got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Jarle Hoddevik off the ground. Bjørnar Bach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Gunnar Gaustad in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Kjetil-André Bertelsen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bjørnar Bach was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. KEZ Toppfotball's Bjørnar Bach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole-Gunnar Gaustad in the 69th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, KEZ Toppfotball was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frode Todnem to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Øyvind Bjerkan during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Laniakea booed when KEZ Toppfotball was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Øyvind Bjerkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 79 minutes, Kent-Are Shala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laniakea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kent-Are Shala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ole-Gunnar Gaustad got free with Bjørnar Bach in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kjetil-André Bertelsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Bjørnar Bach made a huge save. If Ole-Gunnar Gaustad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Wikstrøm got free with Bjørnar Bach in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laniakea played a much better game than KEZ Toppfotball and deserved their victory. The KEZ Toppfotball players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
