With a left leg Lionel-Andrés Messi saved C A U from getting behind. When Alfredo Distiratsu fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C A U's protests and gave Alfredo Distiratsu a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredo Distiratsu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, C A U's Gaston Gartzea got a free kick in the 24th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Kusko in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lionel-Andrés Messi saved C A U from getting behind. After 27 played minutes C A U got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Gartzea. After 31 minutes of play, C A U's Rosendo Guillelme made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Ronaldão Castolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C A U's Lionel-Andrés Messi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Maule in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Alejo Nerio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Potrero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C A U the free kick. In the 45th minute, Alejo Nerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th match minute, C A U was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão Castolo to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredo Distiratsu to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, C A U was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomero Enekoitz to maneuver through the defense. Adan Hustaz's late challenge caught a C A U's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adan Hustaz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to C. A. Potrero getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Adan Hustaz hit a great ball. C A U made a substitution. Narciso Rutenio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Pablo Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 86 minutes, Gaspar Elija managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C A U's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaspar Elija was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, C A U's Baldomero Enekoitz got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 90 played minutes, C. A. Potrero's Filiberto Jordy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lionel-Andrés Messi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in C. A. Potrero reached it. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
