After a defensive mix-up in Geležinis Vilkas's zone, Klim Muravev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eitautas Pažarskis came out of the goal and Klim Muravev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Petr Putyatin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vidmantas Bieliauskas in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Liudvikas Latoža left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geležinis Vilkas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Petr Putyatin came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Geležinis Vilkas's Vaclovas Andrulis. But to his dismay, Vaclovas Andrulis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Petr Putyatin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vaclovas Andrulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petr Putyatin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaclovas Andrulis in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Vygantas Badauskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petr Putyatin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vidmantas Bieliauskas, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Liudvikas Latoža's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petr Putyatin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liudvikas Latoža in the 46th minute of play forced FC Caspiy's goalkeeper Petr Putyatin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Geležinis Vilkas's Mindaugas Žiogas got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vidmantas Bieliauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petr Putyatin stood somewhat misplaced when Kristijonas Akunis came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 56 minute. Liudvikas Latoža fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petr Putyatin having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Beržas Burnickas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geležinis Vilkas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Caspiy the free kick. In the 61st minute, Beržas Burnickas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vidmantas Bieliauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Caspiy's goalkeeper Petr Putyatin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Petr Putyatin managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Geležinis Vilkas's Vidmantas Bieliauskas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 72ndth minute of the game Vidmantas Bieliauskas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Caspiy's Petr Putyatin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arkhip Repin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petr Putyatin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaclovas Andrulis in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Geležinis Vilkas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Caspiy throughout the match.
