Spectators: 930 (Terracing: 698, Seating: 214, VIP seats: 18) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Vilius Latvėnas made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 minutes of play, Valencia C.F.'s Mário Kempes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virginijus Taujanskas was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when Aleksotas FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjaminas Česnauskas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute of the match Tony Izzard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virginijus Taujanskas skillfully saved the ball. Alfredas Zinkevičius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Kerr having to interfere. Virginijus Taujanskas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Kempes's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vilius Latvėnas in the 12th minute of play forced Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Wesley Kerr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Aleksotas FK getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Vilius Latvėnas hit a great ball. Mário Kempes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Greg Blackburn had to leave the field with a concussion. A collision led to Aleksotas FK getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Augustinas Baliutis hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garry Beaver in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virginijus Taujanskas saved Aleksotas FK from getting behind. A collision led to Aleksotas FK getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Benjaminas Krasauskas hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Aleksotas FK defense, Garry Beaver kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Virginijus Taujanskas. The Aleksotas FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virginijus Taujanskas should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute, Garry Beaver ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Virginijus Taujanskas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Valencia C.F.'s David Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, David Silva notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Aleksotas FK's Virginijus Taujanskas. Virginijus Taujanskas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 47 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s Mário Kempes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virginijus Taujanskas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Aleksotas FK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Valencia C.F. were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when Mário Kempes made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Aleksotas FK's Virginijus Taujanskas got control of the ball when Mário Kempes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benjaminas Česnauskas took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wesley Kerr. Wesley Kerr dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Garry Beaver got free with Virginijus Taujanskas in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 67 minutes into the match, Mário Kempes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virginijus Taujanskas. Aleksotas FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mário Kempes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. The crowd rose to their feet as Valencia C.F.'s David Silva slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Virginijus Taujanskas. That made the score 1-6 after 71 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sean Deighton got free with Virginijus Taujanskas in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 79 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s Mário Kempes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virginijus Taujanskas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sean Deighton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Virginijus Taujanskas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Valencia C.F.'s Virginijus Taujanskas threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mário Kempes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nojus Alijošius's late challenge caught a Valencia C.F.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nojus Alijošius helped the player get up and apologised. Aleksotas FK's Virginijus Taujanskas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Aleksotas FK from getting a goal against them. When Vilius Latvėnas came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Aleksotas FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vilius Latvėnas couldn't finish the play. In the 96th match minute, Valencia C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Kempes to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Valencia C.F. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Aleksotas FK throughout the match.
