Víktor Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Falcão Pimenta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independente AC and the Litoral EC - CIMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Independente AC's Falcão Pimenta got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute of the match Elias Paulista shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio Luís Oliveira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Augusto Sena scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Luís Oliveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sílvio Luís Oliveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Sena's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute, Edgard Vides left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Litoral EC - CIMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 23rd minute, João Adolfo Secco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joélson Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telmo Toledo in the 27th minute of play forced Litoral EC - CIMZ's goalkeeper Joélson Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Falcão Pimenta put in a rough tackle. In the 28th minute, one of Independente AC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Independente AC. After a rather tough play, Independente AC's Rafa Falcão got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Aírton Capixaba had several of the Independente AC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 45 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-1 score and a disappointed Sílvio Luís Oliveira as he didn't even see the shot coming. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Elias Paulista charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elias Paulista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Litoral EC - CIMZ's Kléberson Travassos got a free kick in the 56th minute. Edgard Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Augusto Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Luís Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard Vides's late challenge caught a Independente AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgard Vides helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Litoral EC - CIMZ's Edgard Vides got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Sílvio Luís Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Litoral EC - CIMZ had won after a very even match.
