With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doriva Carvalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 8 minutes into the game, Nico De la Cruz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Doriva Carvalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Washington Paraíba got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 21st minute, Caco Freire ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio César was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, Julio César successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Fabrício Bruno lost his temper 31 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 32 played minutes Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Bruno. Nico Mello hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Julio César got control of the ball when Carlos Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th minute, Edson Cordeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Caxinha F. C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tarcisio Leme to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Caxinha F. C.'s goalkeeper Doriva Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nico De la Cruz. Doriva Carvalho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nico De la Cruz went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When Gildo Branco fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's protests and gave Gildo Branco a yellow card for diving instead. Caxinha F. C.'s Doriva Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Paraíba in the 71st minute of play. Téo Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio César having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Washington Paraíba dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. 79 minutes into the match, Caxinha F. C.'s goalkeeper Doriva Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nico De la Cruz. After 81 played minutes Caxinha F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Cauan Queirós. Doriva Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovânio Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caxinha F. C.'s Doriva Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Caxinha F. C. from getting a goal against them. Julio César made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Téo Saldanha in the 89th minute of play. Edson Cordeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
