In the 3rd minute Cauan Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Hudson da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Goianésia E.C's Sérgio Pontes got control of the ball when Hudson da Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Cauan Neiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Claudinho Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Claudinho Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Maranhense in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Cauan Neiva came free, but Claudinho Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hudson da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudinho Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cauan Neiva in the 25th minute of the match. Claudinho Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The audience was convinced that Hudson da Mata's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Pontes was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After 31 minutes of play, Goianésia E.C's Vágner Loureiro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinho Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claudinho Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cauan Neiva in the 34th minute of the match. Cauan Neiva hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Hudson da Matas short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Sérgio Pontes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Breno Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hudson da Mata in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Goianésia E.C were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Luan de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joinville United - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Luan de Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Pontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Hudson da Mata's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Pontes was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Dênis Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Araújo having to interfere. Sérgio Pontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Joinville United - FSCMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Goianésia E.C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
